Zoom
Commander II
The Zoom Commander® digital zoom
controllers give you exceptionally smooth and reliable focus, record, and
dual zoom controls right under the tip of your thumb- all wired directly
into your video camera's LANC or control-L or I/O jack. This lets you
control these important camera functions, and the tripod handle with the
same hand--- instead of having to operate the camera with the opposite hand
with the controls suddenly on the wrong side of the camera. Our zoom
controllers also leave your other hand free for microphones and other
things…. and keep your fingers away from the camera, so you won't ever
jostle your camera again in the middle of a take, or record audio of your
fingers brushing the microphone or other camera parts.
Works with:
Canon GL1, GL2, XL1, XL2, XL1S, Optura, Elura, Sony
VX1000, VX2000, DSR-250, PD100, PD150, PC100, PC110, TRV9, TRV11, TRV18,

Digital 8 & TRV miniDV.

No more uneven zooms.....because
you get Two Complete Sets of Zoom Controls,
Each With Variable Speed Preset.
Get the zoom
speed right every time.
With our zoom controllers' two sets of zoom controls, you can preset each
one to a different speed, and have two reliable and repeatable zooms right
under the tip of your thumb. No fumbling with variable throttles, rocker
switches or other pressure sensitive zoom controls that make you guess how
far to push to get the right zoom speed. And no more having to keep it held
down exactly right to maintain an even zoom speed. Preset the speed
(rehearse it if you like) and get a zoom speed that repeats precisely and
evenly every time. Each pair of zoom buttons has its own continuously
variable speed set dial, so set them anywhere you like. If your prefer, you
can
also vary zoom speed while shooting by adjusting the speed dial while
pressing the zoom button at the same time.
Versatile
Positioning and Lightning Quick Attach and Detach
The Zoom Commander® mounting plate and Zoom Commander® each have Velcro®
attachment pads, so you can attach the Zoom Commander® zoom controller
vertically, horizontally, even diagonally, orienting the controls completely
the way you like them. And, of course, the Velcro® lets you detach
just the zoom controller in an instant, and put it back in an instant,
without having to undo the clamp. The clamp itself uses two solid aluminum v
groove blocks and screws down snug on the tripod handle or elsewhere and
stays put. When you want to move the Zoom Commander® to another tripod or to
your shoulder brace, the swing away block also lets you remove the entire
zoom controller and clamp without having to unscrew and completely
disassemble the clamp (and
without having to reassemble it when you move it back).
Control Your Camera From a Distance
Included free of charge with every Zoom Commander® II or Pro model digital
zoom controller are 25 foot and 12 foot
LANC
extension cables. Just
attach one or both of these to the end of the controller's 6 foot
LANC
cable and you can control
zoom and focus from as far away as 43 feet (further if you buy more lanc
extension cables. ). Use it in any number of limited access situations. You
can also use two Zoom Commanders® to control two cameras from one location
from as far as 86 feet apart (further, if you buy more
LANC
extension cables).
Zoom
Commander® II and Zoom Commander® Pro Added Features
Both of our deluxe digital zoom controllers
include auto-focus on/off controls, letting you switch between camcorder
auto focus or zoom controller manual focus as needed (note: this feature may
not work on some camcorders that have mechanical auto-focus switches). Both
zoom controller deluxe models also offer manual camcorder power/up and
power/down controls, plus a switchable camcorder auto power/up mode. If you
always want your camcorder to remain powered up, switch on the auto mode.
Then, whenever your camcorder times out and attempts to power down to
standby, your Zoom Commander® zoom controller will keep it powered up.
Meanwhile, you can power down any time you like using the manual control.
Switch the auto mode off and the zoom controller lets you power/up or
power/down manually as needed. This is especially useful if you wish to
conserve battery power.
Both deluxe model zoom controllers also come
with both sloped and flat mounting plates so that you can choose to
mount the zoom controller flat on the tripod handle or sloped upward,
whichever is most comfortable for you (this also makes it easier to
adapt the controller to your shoulder brace). Two LANC extension cables
are also included with deluxe zoom controller models as described above.
The Right Stuff
The Zoom Commander® series digital zoom controller housings and
attachment plates and clamp are all black anodized aluminum alloy, and
very light and compact. The main push buttons are square and separate,
and each intentionally only performs one camera action (that way you
can't slip the wrong way as you might on a dual function rocker switch).
The push buttons are also extremely tactile, and arranged in a logical
grid, so your thumb can easily find the right button by feel-- so you'll
always know exactly where to push.
