You've heard of reality TV
right? Well...this is reality film.
The cameras follow a filmmaker through the process of making THIS movie as
that process ultimately becomes the movie.
I
Am DB will show a transition from the very low end, no budget, DV,
amateur look to a polished, high quality, HD and then 35mm film with the
typical Hollywood look and feel of a large scale production with a sizeable
budget; a real-time account of the budget at the time of the making of the
film. It will also show the journey of
the director to the number one spot on the IMDb Pro
StarMeter from
an unknown celebrity state. Currently in production in Indianapolis,
California and New York and wherever else the journey demands. |

I
celebrate Thanksgiving with my extended family in
Niles, Michigan. My cousin Heather is there.
She informs that she is laid of from her job and will
be for some time. I ask her to be my full time,
volunteer camera operator. We run the idea by
her husband David and he approves. Heather
agrees to stay with me in Indy for an undetermined
time. Heather was living in Detroit at the time.
This movie takes it's first step forward. |

I
process a successful Ebay auction of a DVD player that
I was selling for my old boss, Gary Martin. It
just so happens that the high bidder (Steve Brenneman)
works at the local ABC television station (RTV6).
He is promotions department editor. I tell him
that I would like to run my movie concept by him when
we talk. He approves. |

I secure
the domain
www.IAmDb.tv and
forward it to my IMDb profile. This will be used
as the official web address of my publicity campaign.
As people go to that address, my IMDbPro StarMeter
ranking will improve. |

I meet
with
IndianapolisFilm.net
co-founder
Josh Lingenfelter.
He likes the idea and states that "Nobody has done
this before" and calls it a "mind F__K". The
entire meeting was video taped by Faith and myself
(she had to go sing about half way through). |

The concept for this movie comes to me as I browse the
IMDb. |

Later
that same day, I run the idea by my folks and my mom
creates the title "I Am Db". I stick with
that title. |
