I Am Db

Synopsis -

You've heard of reality TV right?  Well...this is reality film.
The cameras follow a filmmaker through the process of making THIS movie as that process ultimately becomes the movie.
I Am DB will show a transition from the very low end, no budget, DV, amateur look to a polished, high quality, HD and then 35mm film with the typical Hollywood look and feel of a large scale production with a sizeable budget; a real-time account of the budget at the time of the making of the film.  It will also show the journey of the director to the number one spot on the IMDb Pro StarMeter from an unknown celebrity state.  Currently in production in Indianapolis, California and New York and wherever else the journey demands.

I was again invited to be a guest on the Mornings on IMC (Indy's Music Channel) talk show during the weekly Indy Filmmakers section.  The show went really well and was able to focus entirely on I Am DB.  The show will air between 9am and 10am on (May 21) Friday morning on Comcast channel 99.  IndianapolisFilm.net will post the show on their site within the next few weeks.  I will provide a link when it's up.

We are at a point now where we need to start feeding information to the media.  We are using a press release (which Sarah Goldman wrote) along with a DVD of the trailer.  In the pursuit of making things look as professional as possible, I wanted to have graphics thermal printed those DVDs.  This is where Larry White and North Street Media comes in.  Larry offered to not only print on the DVDs but also to do the duplication as well.  The very cool thing about this that I discovered is that his equipment seems to burn the DVDs at a much higher compatability ratio.  I popped one of the DVDs into my Sony DVD player (that never plays the DVDs that I burn) and it played the DVD with no problem whatsoever.  This is good to know.  Thank you once again Larry.  Your support is much appreciated.

Some interest has been generated from the flyers  that were distributed around my appartment complex (The Lakes).  Sarah Goldman and Melanie Bailey are two neighbors that have become part of production.  Sarah is a writer and will be working on such things as a press releases, articles, and other publicity related matters.  Melanie will be helping out with office type duties and errands, freeing me up more and allowing me to focus on things that need my personal attention.  Thank you both for joining the crew.
MAY 3, 2004 - MONDAY
I currently live at The Lakes apartments (a great place to live) on the northwest side of Indy.  I spoke with Gabrielle (the grounds manager) and told her about the film.  I also mentioned that I would like to distribute flyers to each of the tenant's doors.  I want to let everyone know that there is a film in production right in their neighborhood and that there are ways that they can get involved if they would like to do so.  Gabrielle agreed that this would be ok so I ran to Kinkos to print out 240 flyers.  They should be distributed either today or tomorrow.  You just never know what talented people you are surrounded with.
I was invited to be a guest on a brand new TV show on Indy's Comcast channel 76 which airs from 10PM to 11PM every night.  The segment I was on should air on Wednesday night during the 10:30 Girls Pillow Talk segment.  This show is filmed EVERY day at The Cozy in downtown Indianapolis.  Me, my crew, and some friends will be heading down there again tomorrow (May 4) to sit in on the show.  I would encourage everyone in the area to check it out as well.  The Cozy has some great food and this show is fun to watch.  There is also an audience participation segment so they need the seats filled.  They are also looking for interesting people to talk to as well, maybe you can become part of the show like I did.  I hope to see you there between 5PM and 9PM.
