Synopsis |
- |
You've heard of reality TV
right? Well...this is reality film.
The cameras follow a filmmaker through the process of making THIS movie as
that process ultimately becomes the movie.
I
Am DB will show a transition from the very low end, no budget, DV,
amateur look to a polished, high quality, HD and then 35mm film with the
typical Hollywood look and feel of a large scale production with a sizeable
budget; a real-time account of the budget at the time of the making of the
film. It will also show the journey of
the director to the number one spot on the IMDb Pro
StarMeter from
an unknown celebrity state. Currently in production in Indianapolis,
California and New York and wherever else the journey demands. |

Gerald
Peterson invited me to an
Indy Men's Magazine
party on April 1. I spoke with Jason Cookson at
Indy Men's Mag to clear my camera crew for the party
and he had no problem with any of it. I hope to
meet some fine people at the event and make positive
connections concerning "I Am DB". Looks like
we're going to a party on Thursday. |

John
Rapp brought a friend to this weeks production
meeting. He is a graphic artist by the name of
Chris Brake.
Chris has expressed helping this film in a couple
capacities, one of which is revamping the I Am DB
logo. He said he can get me a couple of concepts
in the next few days. Let's see what he's got... |

5AM
- I shave for the first time in weeks. Why is
this significant you ask? Because nearly all
signs of the Chicken Pox are finally gone. I can
now return to a social life as well as focus once
again on publicity (TV and radio) for this film. |

I worked
out a banner ad / product placement exchange with
CinemaEye.com
which is a great site about movies. The deal is,
they give me a top banner spot on their main page and
I give them "product placement" in this movie.
They thought it was a great idea and have already put
my banner into rotation. A very cool opportunity
for both of us. |

I sent
an email to
David Sonkin and
explained that I am interested in his New York project
but that I am waiting to have the meeting with
producer Eric Hall to see how we can work the HiLO
Productions project into this film. |

I have
finished the treatment for this film and submitted it
to Eric Hall who will be helping with fundraising.
He is in L.A. right now and extremely busy but
hopefully it won't be too long before we can have
another meeting and discuss obtaining a budget. |

I spoke with
Dean Jacobson
about my meeting with
David Sonkin in
NY. He thought that it could be a great
opportunity for me as a filmmaker and for "I Am DB".
I asked Dean to think about the prospect of working in
NY on this potential unexpected twist to the film. |

Over the
weekend I noticed that I was breaking out with
blisters in a couple places on my body. I went
to the doctor. I have Chicken Pox. I never
got them when I was a kid so they will probably be
pretty intense according to the doctor. This
unwelcome virus will of course become part of the
film. |
|
|
 |
I called
Eric Hall and made him aware of my current condition
and he stated that he would be susceptible to such a
virus...so we had to postpone our meeting until I am
no longer contagious. |

A
gentleman by the name of John Rapp emailed me and
expressed an interest in working on this film. I
invited him over to the studio and gave him the
run-down. He also brought some of his past work.
His main interest is editing so he is going to begin
coming to the studio and cutting some of the Phase 1
footage together. |

Dennis
from
The Tape Company
returned my call from the other day. I attempted
to make an offer with them that stated that if they
donated 30 Sony Mini DV tapes to this project, that I
would promise them my business when I move production
to HD. With this call he said that they would
not be able to "donate" the desired tape stock but
they could offer them to me at their cost. This
would still save me quite a bit of money so I went
ahead and ordered 30 DV tapes. I'm hoping that
this will last me to the end of Phase 2. Dennis
did say however that if I needed more, to call back.
I'm very grateful that they were able to help in this
capacity. |
