Synopsis |
- |
You've heard of reality TV
right? Well...this is reality film.
The cameras follow a filmmaker through the process of making THIS movie as
that process ultimately becomes the movie.
I
Am DB will show a transition from the very low end, no budget, DV,
amateur look to a polished, high quality, HD and then 35mm film with the
typical Hollywood look and feel of a large scale production with a sizeable
budget; a real-time account of the budget at the time of the making of the
film. It will also show the journey of
the director to the number one spot on the IMDb Pro
StarMeter from
an unknown celebrity state. Currently in production in Indianapolis,
California and New York and wherever else the journey demands. |

I
recently established an email newsletter sign up spot
on this web. I imported all email addresses that
I had in my contact list for people that I know
(family, friends, and associates). I imported
164 email address; hopefully nobody minds. It
will be interesting to see this number grow. |

Chad Roberts of
the

returns my call. I was curious about how I could
promote myself at the Underground Film Festival this
weekend. He tells me that there are no "booths"
but that I am welcome to pass out flyers. |

2:30PM - RTV6 Toy Drive -
I chat with Kevin Gregory during a taping and it is a
great success. I pitch my movie and hold up a
sign with the
www.IAmDb.tv
address. The spot will air on Saturday December
6 at 11PM.

I decide
to use some old "flyers" that were mistakes from
Staples. Long story short, Staples screws up
some flyers that I was having printed of Losers
Lounge. Instead they printed glorified images of
my business card in a 8 1/2" x 5". They gave
them to me free of charge. I've had no use for
them...until now. I print up stickers to include
on each flyer that has a short message and also the
www.IAmDb.tv web address. I will
distribute these at the
Underground Film Festival
and afterglow (this weekend). |

I talk
to
Tino Marquez Jr.(co-founder
of
IndianapolisFilm.net
and founder of
Bunk Films) and
ask him to include me in the filmmakers interviews on
IMC (Indy's Music Channel - 99).
The IMC has a weekly time slot for interviewing local
filmmakers. Tino thinks I might have to wait
until January 2004 to get on but there also might be
an opening this next Tuesday. I'm waiting word
from him. |

I meet
with Steve Brenneman at
RTV6 to
make the DVD player / $$ exchange (from Ebay).
He tells me of an upcoming Toy Drive where the station
offers :50seconds of on air time to promote whatever
they want to promote. I schedule my time for
Thursday December 4 at 2:30. |

|
 |
I meet
with
John Blankenship,
an Indy professional in the film industry. He is
excited about the concept and offers his services as
they are needed in the future. |
|
|
 |
I
determine that a new camera bag is needed. My
current bag has almost completely deteriorated at this
point. I was going to buy one from
CompUSA.
Instead, I ask Bruce Huber (General Manger), if
CompUSA would
like to help with the making of this film.
CompUSA
donates one perfect camera bag. I am
empowered. |
|
|
 |
I
determine that we should have a back up battery for my
current camera (Sony
DCR-PC9) so Heather (camera operator),
Faith (girlfriend / assistant), and myself stop at
Best Buy and
speak with Ryan. We get the meeting on tape and
he is very happy to help us. He gives us a 4hr
battery at cost, a savings of $40 (50% off retail
price). Faith buys the discounted battery and
states that it is her donation to the film. Ryan
offers his services / help in the future and is also
excited about the project. |
